Job Summary

As a Senior Actuarial Analyst at Arch Capital Group, you will play a critical role in providing actuarial support to the P&C Programs Insurance Business Unit. This team highly values actuarial expertise, and you will have the opportunity to lead as a liaison representing the actuarial team with business partners. This role reports to the AVP, Actuarial Pricing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review products by applying actuarial concepts and techniques to determine portfolio profitability; analyzing and digging into detailed segmentations.
  • Monitor portfolio rate change, pricing adequacy, and underwriting mix change on new and renewal business to guide Program Managers and make informed decisions.
  • Analyze and research to improve pricing parameters and segmentation to better identify profitable opportunities.
  • Design, program, and maintain critical tools used in pricing and book monitoring.

Requirements

  • 4-8 years of experience in actuarial roles, with demonstrated success on actuarial exams.
  • Strong software/programming skills, such as Python and SQL, for building underwriting tools and advanced research projects.
  • Superior communication skills for partnering with underwriters and presenting to business leaders.

For individuals assigned or hired to work in California, Colorado, Hawaii, Jersey City, NJ; New York State; and/or Washington State, the base salary range is listed below. This range is as of the time of posting. Position is incentive eligible.

$95,900 - $148,902/year

Total individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization as well as business needs. The above range may be modified in the future.
