Job Title: Investment Manager

Trinity University is seeking a highly skilled Investment Manager to join its Office of Investments. As a key member of the investment team, you will be responsible for sourcing, screening, and analyzing investment opportunities across various asset classes, including private equity, growth equity, venture capital, real assets, opportunistic, and private credit strategies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a key member of the investment team, focusing on sourcing, screening, and analysis of investment opportunities.
  • Drive the investment process for private investments and provide primary decision support to the Chief Investment Officer on private investment recommendations, portfolio, and pipeline management.
  • Manage research and due diligence efforts for private investment opportunities through quantitative and qualitative analyses, meeting attendance, and participation.
  • Lead meetings with general partners, management teams, and other relevant professionals to assess and evaluate investment managers and their funds.
  • Sources, identifies, and evaluates high-quality investment opportunities and provides thoughtful, independent, and value-add analysis.
  • Generates valuable feedback that demonstrates good judgment and data-driven analysis.
  • Serves as lead manager for the due diligence process and completes investment memos with limited supervision, as needed.
  • Acts as a first level of screening for manager inquiries and uses data to determine and communicate quality to the Chief Investment Officer.
  • Manages monitoring effort for private investment asset classes and leads monitoring of existing managers.
  • Leads regular reviews of individual private investment managers.
  • Develops asset class models and high-value internal reporting of asset class attributes, risk management metrics, and overall portfolio and general market characteristics.
Requirements:
  • Seven years of experience in investment management or related fields with a recognized and respected firm.
  • Private investment experience, including underwriting private equity, growth equity, venture capital, real assets, opportunistic, and private credit strategies.
  • Ability to utilize quantitative analysis to develop a thesis and tell a clear story.
  • Intuitively able to reason, analyze information, and events, and apply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong relationship management abilities.
  • Demonstrated qualitative and quantitative analytical skills.
  • Ability to work well autonomously.
  • Motivated self-starter and problem-solver with a demonstrated track-record of producing high-quality deliverables on tight deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
  • Credentials as CAIA, FRM, CIPM, etc.
