Role Summary

The Healthcare Applications Support Coordinator plays a vital role in providing technical support for clinical applications utilized by healthcare professionals in outpatient settings. This position is responsible for the initial training and ongoing skill enhancement of medical staff regarding the use of clinical software applications. The coordinator will also engage in workflow design and improvement initiatives as new updates and regulations arise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with healthcare providers and administrative staff to ensure seamless IT support.
  • Act as a resource for project teams, contributing to the design and development of clinical application solutions.
  • Facilitate the delivery of services and manage any conflicts that may arise between various teams and clinics.
  • Utilize clinical knowledge to recommend appropriate functionalities for software applications, ensuring alignment with clinical standards.
  • Participate in governance and departmental meetings to contribute to the continuous improvement of clinical systems.
  • Support the planning process for physician integration, including needs assessments and regulatory compliance.
  • Deliver consistent support services while adhering to established service level agreements.
  • Assist in developing operational redesign recommendations to enhance system functionality.
  • Provide clinical support throughout all project phases, including testing and training material development.
  • Communicate effectively with leadership regarding functional priorities and issue resolution.
  • Monitor application usage and system performance, addressing any issues that impact operational efficiency.
  • Foster positive interdepartmental relationships, particularly between technical and clinical teams.
  • Respond promptly to user requests and maintain accountability for timelines and deliverables.
  • Participate in the training of new staff and ensure ongoing competency in technology use.
  • Evaluate training materials to ensure they are current and effective for end users.
  • Exhibit exceptional customer service and dedication to quality in all interactions.
  • Support the operational effectiveness of clinical information systems and promote user adoption.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications include:

  • Two years of experience in providing system support to clinical staff or working in a clinical environment with electronic health records.
  • Proven knowledge of clinical workflows and the ability to support clinical staff effectively.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Clinical licensure or a relevant clinical degree.
  • Experience with electronic health record systems such as Allscripts or Cerner.
