Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Construction Site Laborer to join our team at Iron Woman Construction & Environmental Services. This role is essential for supporting various construction activities and ensuring the smooth operation of our projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Excavate trenches and ditches, backfill sites, and compact soil to meet specified grades using hand tools and machinery.
  • Handle the loading and unloading of materials, machinery, and tools, ensuring proper distribution according to project requirements.
  • Assist equipment operators by signaling for safe movement of machinery on site.
  • May operate light machinery, air compressors, and pneumatic tools as needed.
  • Drive vehicles to transport personnel and equipment to and from job sites.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Basic knowledge of construction techniques, tools, and equipment is preferred.
  • Awareness of safety hazards and precautions relevant to the construction industry.
  • Exhibit a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a commitment to safety.
  • Ability to climb into and out of various types of equipment.
  • Experience working with heavy machinery and equipment.
  • Willingness to work in congested or remote locations.
  • Ability to perform in extreme weather conditions, ranging from cold to hot temperatures.
  • Flexibility in work hours based on project needs, typically requiring availability for at least 40 hours per week, with potential for overtime.
  • Execute general construction tasks under the guidance of a Foreman or Supervisor.

Physical Requirements:

  • Climb ladders and machinery as required.
  • Engage in lifting, digging, and focusing on specific tasks.
  • Push, pull, reach, and frequently carry objects weighing up to 75 lbs.
  • Load and unload tools and equipment onto vehicles.
  • Coordinate movements of hands, eyes, and feet effectively.
  • Work at various heights and in outdoor settings, subject to weather conditions.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 0 to 5 years of experience in the utility construction sector is preferred.
  • Commitment to maintaining safe working conditions in accordance with regulations.
  • Effective communication skills with colleagues and clients.
  • Promote damage prevention practices within the excavation community.

Job Type: Full-time

Compensation: $28.00 per hour
