Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Community Engagement Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring the seamless management of service requests, coordination, and follow-up to guarantee completion and high levels of resident satisfaction and retention.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Collaborate with the Property Manager and Maintenance Supervisor to optimize the workflow of service requests, manage expenditures, prepare apartments, and oversee cleaning and housekeeping tasks while ensuring timely completion of all work orders and ongoing projects.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to residents by employing effective problem-solving techniques that align with the operational needs of the property.
  • Maintain organized and timely completion of all administrative tasks.
  • Oversee resident services to ensure all resident requirements are addressed.
  • Receive and allocate all maintenance service requests efficiently.
  • Assist in managing unit turnover processes and conduct all move-in/move-out inspections.
  • Coordinate the maintenance staff's workload in conjunction with the Property Manager.
  • Work alongside the Property Manager to forecast expenditures based on anticipated community needs (e.g., apartment readiness, painting, etc.) and aid in cost reporting for accounting purposes.
  • Support office and maintenance teams as needed.
  • Foster and maintain a sense of community among residents.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of two years' experience as a Community Engagement Specialist in residential property management or a related field is required.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a two-year college degree is preferred.
  • Familiarity with property management software such as Yardi Voyager is advantageous.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and external parties.
  • Proficient in intermediate mathematical functions.
  • Strong information management and data entry capabilities.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Understanding of on-site maintenance operations.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships.
  • Strong phone communication and customer service skills with residents.
  • Willingness to travel 5-10% of the time as required.
  • Ability to pass a criminal and/or credit background check.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • This position requires standard office environment capabilities. Must be able to use a phone, computer, and other office equipment. While performing job duties, the employee must be able to hear, speak, reach, bend, or kneel, and sit; must be able to walk for extended periods under various weather conditions to tour the property. Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds may be required.
