Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior System Administrator to join our team at Chenega Corporation. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for administering physical and virtual Linux servers running Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) in support of Defensive Cyber Operations for the US Navy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer server-based systems, security devices, distributed applications, and network storage, and perform systems monitoring.
  • Consult on network, application, and customer service issues to support computer systems' security and availability.
  • Provide Subject Matter Expert level support for Linux system administration on RHEL and SLES.
  • Maintain systems patches.
  • Maintain systems security posture.
  • Implement Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
  • Review ACAS/Tenable security scans and remediate vulnerabilities as required.
  • Improve system administration productivity by authorizing/updating relevant shell scripts.
  • Provide timely reports on project status and other systems administration work, as required.
  • Liaise with government and contractor organizations to ensure information is current and accurate.
  • Maintain a neat, secure, and orderly facility.
  • Complete annual company and customer training requirements according to established policies and procedures, as required.
  • Record labor hours daily in an online corporate system.
  • Travel up to 10% as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 7+ years of experience as Linux System Administrator on systems running Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) in an enterprise-level environment including:Experience in VMware vSphere.Experience in application of Secure Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) on Linux-based systems.
  • 3+ years' experience working with RMF-based Information Security Systems Engineer (ISSE) documentation.
  • ACAS/Tenable security suite experience.
  • Current CompTIA Security+ required to start.
  • Must be a Citizen.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • General Service (GENSER)/Secret clearance required to start.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Proficiency in shell scripting.
  • Familiar with enterprise backup software and administration.
  • Familiar with enterprise storage administration and concept.
  • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) Level 3 desired.
  • Ability to work in a team setting, as well as independently.
  • Self-starter: identify issues and create an action plan for resolution.
  • Demonstrated initiative, flexibility, and ability to concurrently manage multiple deadline-driven tasks and projects.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% as required.
