Cybersecurity Systems Administrator

Location: Suffolk, VA

The Cybersecurity Systems Administrator will be responsible for delivering HBSS Subject Matter Expert (SME) tracking, artifacts, and documentation to the HBSS Overarching Project Management and the Team Lead or designated representative, supporting Defensive Cyber Operations for the U.S. Navy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain the Navy Assured Compliance Assessment System (ACAS) collection system server and its configurations to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
  • Administer server-based systems, security devices, distributed applications, network storage, and messaging, while performing systems monitoring.
  • Provide consultation on network, application, and customer service issues to support the security and sustainability of computer systems.
  • Escalate issues and problems to facilitate solution development.
  • Report compliance status in accordance with Navy mandates and management direction.
  • Manage the ticketing system effectively.
  • Monitor and analyze ePO rollup event feeds, responding and reporting according to approved Navy TTPs/SOPs.
  • Troubleshoot HBSS product issues and outages.
  • Review HBSS threat events.
  • Maintain a clean, secure, and organized work environment.
  • Complete annual training requirements as per established policies and procedures.
  • Record labor hours daily in an online corporate system.
  • Travel may be required up to 10%.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • 7+ years of IT experience.
  • 2+ years of prior helpdesk experience.
  • Current CompTIA Security+ certification is required to start.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver's license.
  • General Service (GENSER)/Secret clearance is required to start.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficient in working with the McAfee Host Intrusion Prevention System.
  • Familiarity with McAfee Data Loss Prevention Endpoint products.
  • Experience in McAfee HBSS ePO administration.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Structured Query Language (SQL) server.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting as well as independently.
  • Self-starter with the ability to identify issues and create action plans for resolution.
  • Demonstrated initiative, flexibility, and capability to manage multiple deadline-driven tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% as needed.
  • Flexible regarding shift work, with options from 7 am-3:30 pm or 3:30 pm-12:00 am Eastern Standard Time.
