Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Planner 2 to join our team at the State of Connecticut Department of Transportation. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating complex transportation planning projects, developing and implementing transportation plans, and analyzing data to inform decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement transportation plans and policies to meet the needs of the State of Connecticut
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to gather data and information to inform transportation planning decisions
  • Analyze data to identify trends and patterns and make recommendations for transportation planning initiatives
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in transportation planning and make recommendations for implementation

Requirements
  • 7 years of experience in transportation planning or a related field
  • 1 year of experience in a lead or supervisory role
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Transportation Planning, Urban Planning, or a related field
  • Experience with GIS and data analysis software
  • Knowledge of transportation planning principles and practices
  • Experience working with stakeholders and community groups
