Position Overview

Location: Onsite in Houston, Texas. Remote candidates will not be considered.

SUMMARY:

The IT Support Specialist Lead is responsible for overseeing the technical assistance and support provided to the organization and its personnel. The ideal candidate will ensure the effective maintenance and support of various IT resources, including computers, communication systems, and network infrastructure.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver IT assistance to end users, utilizing a work order ticketing system for tracking.
  • Facilitate the installation and integration of applications and hardware.
  • Conduct user training sessions during and post-implementation of systems.
  • Investigate user business functions to explore available options and develop effective solutions.
  • Maintain ongoing support for computer and electronic systems.
  • Provide assistance for building lighting systems.
  • Inform users and management of any changes to installation plans or designs to ensure timely completion and user satisfaction.
  • Plan work during non-peak hours, ensuring adequate user notification of any downtime.
  • Be available to work weekends or after hours as necessary.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Fundamental knowledge and experience in supporting devices within a Windows environment.
  • 3-5 years of experience in an IT department is advantageous.
  • Experience in the Real Estate and Property Management sector is a plus.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Basic understanding of electronics, including voltage, current, and watts.
  • Familiarity with mechanical hardware and handheld power tools.
  • Comprehensive understanding of computer hardware components, including installation, upgrades, and replacements.
  • Ability to:
  • Troubleshoot hardware issues.
  • Resolve software and printer problems.
  • Install, update, and maintain software on computers.
  • Provide both onsite and remote computer support.
  • Install, update, and maintain various hardware peripherals.
  • Support audio/video systems.
  • Work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Manage time effectively and multitask efficiently.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Have reliable transportation for travel between business locations during work hours.
  • Work outdoors and on rooftops as required for servicing campus lighting.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn new technologies and undertake diverse IT tasks.
