WORK EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 2 years in community healthcare settings.

SALARY RANGE: Dependent on experience

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

POSITION TYPE: Full-Time

LANGUAGE: Fluent in English; proficiency in additional languages such as Spanish, Arabic, Burmese, or Chinese is required.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Patient Support Team Lead is responsible for ensuring efficient operations within the patient support and eligibility teams. This role involves maintaining patient records and providing exceptional customer service. The lead will collaborate with various departments to manage provider schedules and facilitate patient appointments effectively.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform duties of Patient Support Specialist and Eligibility Support Specialist as necessary;
  • Oversee front office operations, including closing procedures and various reporting;
  • Supervise Patient Support and Eligibility staff to ensure professional and friendly service;
  • Lead training for new front desk staff and ensure compliance with operational standards;
  • Maintain effective communication with all departments to guarantee seamless service delivery;
  • Monitor daily cash flow at the front desk;
  • Address emergencies and follow up as needed;
  • Attend relevant meetings and training sessions;
  • Manage provider schedules efficiently;
  • Handle patient inquiries and complaints professionally;
  • Ensure confidentiality and security of patient information;
  • Assist with insurance verification and patient enrollment in programs;
  • Participate in community engagement activities as required;
  • Perform additional duties to support the mission and values of the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in community outreach programs;
  • Knowledge of social service programs in the local area;
  • Understanding of HIPAA standards;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and internet applications;
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

  • High School diploma or GED required; Associates Degree preferred. At least one year of experience in health education or patient assistance is necessary.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS:

  • Bilingual capabilities in Vietnamese, Chinese, Arabic, or Spanish are preferred;
  • Strong public speaking and writing skills;
  • Valid Texas Driver's license and reliable transportation.
