Overview:

The Central Supply Administrator is responsible for ensuring the precise management of inventory across all central supply locations and nursing units.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Processes and fulfills supply requests, delivering items to designated units.
  • With the necessary approvals, places orders for supplies from approved vendors.
  • Receives and inspects supply deliveries, ensuring accurate documentation is forwarded to relevant department heads.
  • Maintains a well-organized storage area and keeps meticulous inventory records.
  • Utilizes computer systems to input and retrieve data, draft correspondence, and generate reports.
  • Manages the retention and archiving of files in compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
  • Completes additional tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with staff and suppliers.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and clarity.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in operating personal computers.
  • Familiarity with shipping and receiving protocols.
  • Capable of reading and understanding necessary documentation for job performance.
  • Knowledgeable in medical terminology.
  • Understanding of resident information privacy regulations.
  • Skilled in motivating and guiding team members.

Physical Requirements:

The role requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and engage in physical activities such as walking, standing, bending, and carrying for extended periods.

Educational Background:

A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Relevant coursework or continuing education in the medical field is advantageous, with knowledge of medical terminology being a plus.

Experience:

A minimum of one year of experience in inventory management or shipping and receiving is required.

Additional Considerations:

The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment, possess strong multitasking abilities, and demonstrate flexibility and organizational skills. Responsibilities include maintaining a diverse inventory of medical supplies, including over-the-counter medications, feeding supplies, oxygen equipment, wound care items, and personal protective gear.
