Job Summary

Michigan Sugar Company is seeking a highly skilled P&W Maintenance Manager to join our team at the Bay City Factory. As a key member of our maintenance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and effective maintenance of our equipment, following SQF/GMP and MIOSHA guidelines and standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop the maintenance department to achieve Michigan Sugar's goals and objectives.
  • Establish and manage the annual maintenance budget to ensure optimal resource allocation.
  • Provide on-call support for site maintenance and repairs as needed.
  • Identify and develop training plans to create a team with the necessary skills to maintain and upgrade all P&W equipment.
  • Optimize employee efficiency and work quality through management of planning, scheduling, and storeroom functions.
  • Develop and implement detailed inter-campaign maintenance outage plans to meet operational start-up deadlines.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with supporting departments to ensure proper planning and transparency of downtime.
  • Ensure all maintenance personnel comply with regulatory requirements, including SQF/GMP, MIOSHA, and EGLE.
  • Participate in quality meetings and audits, and take corrective actions as needed.
  • Develop and utilize our CMMS system to complete and track planned and reactive repairs, and evaluate reliability through Mean Time to Repair and Mean Time to Failure.
  • Help lead the implementation and utilization of KPIs to measure asset/equipment performance and total lifecycle maintenance costs.
  • Identify critical equipment and develop a preventative and predictive maintenance plan.
  • Responsible for the identification, submission, and implementation of capital and extraordinary maintenance projects for sustainability and continuous improvement.
  • Work directly with shift supervision to understand and address maintenance needs.
Requirements
  • Preferred Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical/Industrial Engineering or equivalent industrial experience of 10+ years with progressive supervisory responsibilities.
  • Demonstrate completion of maintenance and reliability courses and/or professional qualifications in the same field.
  • Training or relevant exposure in a supervisory role, overseeing maintenance and continuous improvement of a production facility, QA systems, and EHS.
  • Evident business skills with the ability to clearly communicate strategy and vision to various members.
  • Software/computer skills.
