Job Overview

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for the overall maintenance of the buildings and grounds within our community. This includes ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. You will work under the guidance of the Facilities Maintenance Director.

PRIMARY DUTIES INCLUDE:

  1. Performing repairs and preventative maintenance on the building and grounds, including emergency response systems and security measures.
  2. Ensuring that the community adheres to all legal standards, including health and safety regulations.
  3. Transporting residents and managing bus service repairs as necessary.
  4. Collaborating with external vendors for maintenance needs.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to building maintenance.
  2. Proficiency in plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, and HVAC systems.
  3. Ability to operate a multi-passenger shuttle safely.
  4. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  5. Successful completion of background checks and pre-employment screenings.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  1. High School diploma or equivalent.
  2. Additional training or certifications in relevant trades is preferred.
  3. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  1. Work is conducted in both indoor and outdoor settings, subject to weather conditions.
  2. Physical stamina is required for various tasks, including lifting and climbing.
  3. Effective communication skills are necessary for interaction with residents and staff.
