Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including lubrication checks, cleaning, and greasing of equipment
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform repairs as needed
  • Assist with job set-ups and make adjustments as required
  • Provide training and guidance to production associates on new or modified equipment
  • Perform other duties as required by the Production Supervisor

Requirements

  • Strong ability to use independent judgment in determining work processes and actual job performed
  • Basic level of demonstrated competence in electricity/electronics, hydraulic/pneumatics, individual components, system and control configurations, associated schematics and documentation
  • Basic mechanical knowledge, welding, plumbing, and machining
  • Design and layout electrical distribution systems for the installation of equipment
  • Design and layout plumbing systems (air, water, etc.) for the installation of equipment
  • Perform troubleshooting for all equipment
  • Perform repairs (to factory technology level) of air compressors
  • Perform electrical repairs of all equipment
  • Perform mechanical repairs (up to factory technology level) of all equipment
  • Perform gas, arc, and heli-arc welding on various equipment
  • Perform adjustments of vision systems and fiber optic systems
  • Write technical data for set-up, checking, and troubleshooting
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Knowledge of arithmetic is required
  • Basic skills in oral and written communication
  • Comply with all Environment, Health, and Safety (EH&S) rules and procedures
  • Computer skills – Use of CMM, Equipment software (PLC, OPI), OFFICE S/W
  • State certified DOL journeyman's card/UAW maintenance machine repair card

Working Conditions

This role requires moderate to heavy physical demands, including exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, or 10 to 20 pounds constantly. The associate will be subject to environmental conditions common to a plant environment, including cramped conditions between presses and enclosures. Some exposure to loud noise and oil is expected.
