Material Handling Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY
As an essential member of the ARBOC Receiving team, you will be responsible for managing incoming materials and efficiently planning material needs to support the production schedule, aiming for complete parts availability for manufacturing.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Manage incoming materials, which includes unloading shipments and verifying that the received quantity matches the documented amount. In case of discrepancies, you will adjust the packing slip accordingly and submit it to the receiving office.
· Organize materials in designated storage areas. You will ensure that items are stored in their assigned locations, and if a location is not available, you will liaise with Purchasing to determine the correct storage area. It is essential to rotate stock based on a first-in, first-out system.
· Monitor Kan Ban items daily. You will be tasked with scanning the parent Kan Ban bins each day, submitting Kan Ban cards for items at reorder points to purchasing, and ensuring replenished items are returned to their proper locations. Additionally, all satellite bins will be scanned and restocked as necessary.
· Properly handle damaged materials. You will ensure that all damaged items are tagged with a DMR and securely stored in the designated damaged material area. You will also process or return materials to suppliers as directed by the Head Receiver or Buyer, ensuring items are returned in their original packaging when possible.
· Conduct cycle counts or audits as directed by the Head Receiver or purchasing team. You will perform special inventory counts as requested by purchasing personnel, which may include weekly grocery counts or specific item audits.
· Utilize the daily shortage list to communicate with purchasing and manufacturing regarding parts received on the shortage report. You will obtain this report from the Head Receiver at the start of your shift.
QUALIFICATIONS:
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:
• Forklift certification is required.
• Ability to lift, bend, push, pull, and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Capability to stand or walk for an entire shift, which may last 8-10 hours.
• Proficiency in reading measurements, performing calculations, and using handheld tools.
• Strong ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
A motivated self-starter with a high level of initiative, capable of working independently as well as collaboratively.
