Job Overview

Climatec LLC is seeking a highly skilled Building Automation Controls Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and support for building automation systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide input to sales and operations regarding technical and business considerations for construction or direct owner projects.
  • Support ongoing service engineering and support for existing building systems, including controls database, graphics, programming, and sequences.
  • Debug installation issues during static and dynamic start-up and commissioning of building controls.
  • Provide accurate controls start-up and commissioning, including point-to-point checkout on projects as assigned.
  • Ensure timely software backups are created for projects and software development.
  • Complete time sheets, service work orders, and other paperwork required for this position in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Determine if customer expectations are similar to Climatec's and provide feedback internally and externally.
  • Recommend technical solutions to sales and operations and assist the sales team during estimating phases.
  • Identify change order opportunities and coordinate with sales to document, pursue, and book them.
  • Provide support to Climatec and other contractors to solve building operating issues that go beyond controls.
  • Provide leadership and input to others as requested or required to assist in the accurate estimation, design, installation, start-up, commissioning, and training for building systems.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in building controls or a related field
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience with one or more of the following: Distech, Alerton, or Tridium controls systems (N4)
  • Experience and understanding of large networks and VLANs, with the ability to configure and debug basic computer and networking problems
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic electric and electronic circuitry, including reading and interpreting electrical and electronic diagrams
  • Understanding of AC power circuitry, including breakers and multi-phase power (120VAC and greater)
  • An understanding of computer operating systems, including MS Office Suite of products

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two-year technical degree in HVAC or Electronics-related studies preferred
  • Other technical experience, such as military or on-the-job training programs, may meet this requirement as determined by local management
  • Clear and concise ability to communicate verbally and in writing
  • An ability to understand empathetically the issues and perceptions others have and to creatively and successfully work through these issues to achieve a successful outcome and customer and employee satisfaction

Essential Job Functions:

  • Be able to lift and carry ladders, drawings, personal computers, material, etc.
  • Be able to spend significant time standing and walking on construction sites
  • Be able to climb several flights of stairs or ladders throughout a typical day on a construction site
  • Maintain a satisfactory driving record, which, per Climatec's vehicle policy, allows the individual to drive a company vehicle
  • Be physically able to kneel, stoop, and crawl
