Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Buyer to enhance our procurement operations. This role is pivotal in executing daily material planning and purchasing functions to ensure optimal inventory levels, cost efficiency, and operational continuity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the planning, scheduling, and procurement of materials while overseeing the repair parts process and third-party quotations for enhanced cost efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the technical specifications of purchased products.
  • Conduct cost analysis and volume forecasting for significant commodities.
  • Solicit and evaluate bids, making informed purchasing decisions.
  • Collaborate with Equipment Engineering to facilitate the quoting process, source new suppliers, and ensure tool reliability.
  • Utilize a supplier value matrix to assess vendor pricing, reliability, delivery performance, quality, and contractual terms.
  • Identify and establish new supply sources when existing vendors do not meet requirements.
  • Propose cost-saving initiatives through alternative sourcing and vendor evaluation strategies.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Mathematics, or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of successful experience in procurement and supplier management is required.
  • Experience in the semiconductor sector and familiarity with relevant commodities is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in major ERP/MRP systems; experience with Oracle purchasing and planning is a significant plus.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, are essential.
