Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Specialist to join our team at Parsons Corporation. As a key member of our Critical Infrastructure team, you will play a crucial role in helping us clean up soil and groundwater contamination in California.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform various field and office tasks requiring the application of basic scientific principles and fundamental theories.
  • Operate and maintain treatment systems, including daily or weekly record gauge and totalizer readings.
  • Conduct weekly treatment system filter changes and monthly treatment system sampling.
  • Perform annual and semi-annual sampling and gauging of extraction and monitoring wells at multiple sites.
  • Tow and maneuver trailers as needed.
  • Oversight of subcontractors.
  • Collect and record data, including note-taking and records collection.
  • Manage property, including inspecting condition and maintaining housekeeping standards.
  • Interpret analytical results and compile data into tables.
  • Write groundwater monitoring reports.
  • Support other projects as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a science, geology, or engineering curriculum related to the assigned discipline.
  • 0-3 years of related work experience.
  • Familiarity with software packages typically associated with the discipline, including Adobe Acrobat, M.S. Word, M.S. Excel, and M.S. Outlook.
  • Clean DMV record, as you will be driving Parsons vehicles.
  • Willingness and comfort with towing and maneuvering trailers.
  • Basic self-organization and writing skills.
Desired Skills
  • Ability to perform frequent, cyclical field work out of town with overnight stays for multiple consecutive days.
  • Strong ability to understand and comply with verbal and written instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to collect extensive field notes and records.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team and as a lone worker with frequent transition between the two.
  • Knowledgeable and/or experience in groundwater sampling.
  • HAZWOPER training.
  • O&M experience or mechanical aptitude, as this position requires physical work and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
