Job SummaryWe are seeking an Environmental Scientist 2 to join our team. As an Environmental Scientist 2, you will play a critical role in collecting and managing project-related data, conducting environmental impact assessments, and preparing environmental documents. You will work closely with our clients and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Collect and manage project-related data, including research on water quality issues, surveys for listed species, and interviews with government agencies and clients.
- Assimilate and manage data to inform environmental decisions.
- Prepare constraints mapping and define the level of environmental analysis required.
- Conduct environmental impact assessments and perform complex assignments, making independent decisions on problems and methods.
- Assist in preparation for and participation in public information meetings and hearings.
- Perform presentations to regulatory agencies and assist clients with permit coordination, acquisition, and compliance.
- Write Water Quality Studies and Natural Environment Studies or Aquatic Resources Delineation Reports.
- Work independently on medium-size projects or assist senior scientists on larger projects.
- Bachelor's degree in environmental science or a closely related field.
- 5 years of technical and/or field experience preparing environmental documents.
- Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel) and GIS.
- Strong environmental writing and communication skills.
- Strong conceptual, organizational, problem-solving, and research abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
