About the Role

Stantec is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Geologist to join our team in Walnut Creek, CA. As an Environmental Geologist, you will play a key role in the preparation, implementation, and evaluation of various environmental remediation projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with geologists and engineers to perform various aspects of environmental projects, including data collection and analysis, contamination assessment, and remedial technology evaluation.
  • Prepare and coordinate the production of deliverables such as work plans, site investigation reports, remedial investigations, and closure reports.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of remedial actions for contaminated soil and groundwater, including technology screening, pilot testing, and system operation and maintenance.
  • Perform basic geological duties on projects of varying complexity.
  • Conduct onsite construction observation, contractor coordination, and inspection reports.
  • Develop a strong understanding of policies and procedures for Health, Safety, Security, and the Environment (HSSE), including client-specific training.
Requirements
  • At least three years of experience in the environmental consulting industry, with a focus on technical project execution.
  • Experience in routine groundwater and soil sampling procedures.
  • Strong technical writing skills.
  • Good driving record and valid driver's license.
  • OSHA 40 hour HAZWOPER certification.
  • Ability to manage time effectively to meet project budget and schedule.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Geology.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of environmental geology experience.
  • California Professional Geologist License or Geologist-in-Training certification (preferred).
