Job Summary

The Licensed Nursing Assistant is a vital member of our care team, working collaboratively with the Staff Nurse to deliver high-quality patient care. This role requires excellent communication and customer service skills, as well as the ability to work respectfully and successfully as part of a team.

Responsibilities
  • Provide basic personal care support to patients, including assistance with daily living activities
  • Assist with specific aspects of patient care, as directed by the Staff Nurse
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
  • Participate in routine therapy services, including walking, exercises, and supervision of activities
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • State of Vermont LNA license
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work respectfully and successfully as a member of a team
About the Post Acute Unit

The Post Acute Unit at UVMHN Helen Porter Rehabilitation & Nursing provides supportive, goal-directed care following surgery and/or hospitalization. Our goal is to help patients reach their highest possible level of independence, and we offer specially-designed treatment programs to achieve this goal.

We work with a variety of conditions, including strokes, neurological conditions, orthopedic care, respiratory conditions, and cardiac and post-trauma situations. Our nursing staff provide the necessary extension of therapies when therapy staff are not present, including walking, exercises, and supervision of activities.
