Job Title: Direct Support Professional/Residential Counselor

At Carelink Career Page, we are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Direct Support Professional/Residential Counselor to join our team. As a key member of our care team, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with disabilities in achieving their goals and living independently.

Job Summary

This is a dynamic and rewarding role that requires a strong commitment to providing exceptional care and support to individuals with varying needs. As a Direct Support Professional/Residential Counselor, you will be responsible for assisting individuals with daily living activities, promoting their independence, and fostering a positive and inclusive living environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist individuals with daily living activities, such as personal care, meal preparation, and household chores.
  • Develop and implement individualized service plans to promote independence and self-advocacy.
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to individuals, promoting their mental and emotional well-being.
  • Collaborate with other care team members to ensure seamless care and support.
  • Document and report on individual progress, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or related field preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in human services or a related field; life experience in human services also considered.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to drive agency vehicles.
  • CPRP/RPRP certification and Certified Peer Specialist certification preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with individuals, families, and care team members.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances.
