ATI is looking to hire a Facilities Maintenance Lead to become part of ATI's Specialty Rolled Products team in New Bedford, MA.

This role is essential for diagnosing and resolving issues while ensuring that electrical equipment, facilities, and utilities are maintained at optimal levels for efficient, continuous, and reliable operation to achieve production targets.

To be successful and make an immediate impact, you will need to quickly familiarize yourself with ATI's facility, processes, and culture. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including a unionized workforce, engineering, quality, and safety, is crucial. Key skills for a successful Facilities Maintenance Lead include attention to detail, strong problem-solving abilities, quick decision-making, and exceptional interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee simultaneous maintenance operations to effectively maintain industrial manufacturing equipment and facilities on a continuous basis.
  • Guide the team by developing, educating, and directing them in proper maintenance practices while scheduling daily shift work to complete preventive maintenance tasks and prioritize urgent repairs based on a critical equipment list.
  • Document equipment downtime, conduct failure analysis, and maintain PSM and Title V records.
  • Ensure all team members fulfill annual safety training requirements and comply with all governmental regulations and company policies.
  • Supervise preventive maintenance of valves and monitoring systems.
  • Manage the calibration and monitoring of temperature control systems, thermocouples, vacuum instruments, pH probes, and pressure gauges.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in maintaining electrical equipment and instrumentation in an industrial, manufacturing, or military setting.
  • Background in Electrical and/or Instrumentation (State Electrical License is highly preferred).
  • At least 3 years of leadership experience, formal or informal.

Preferred Skills:

  • Associate's degree in Engineering or a related Maintenance discipline.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with a proven ability to work independently or in a team-oriented environment.
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems and software for at least 2 years.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Familiarity with LEAN manufacturing practices and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience supervising bargaining unit employees.
  • Strong understanding of Quality documentation related to calibration and testing of thermocouples, pH probes, and pressure/vacuum instrumentation.
  • Knowledge of P&ID loops and associated symbols.
