About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Maintenance Technician to join our team at Little People's College. As a key member of our facilities team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of our facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our children and families.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the appearance of the facilities, inside and out, and perform repairs as needed.
  • Inspect and identify equipment in need of repair, and troubleshoot issues to determine necessary repairs.
  • Perform general repairs that do not require a specialized technician, including painting, door repairs, plumbing maintenance, and other building fixtures.
  • Perform routine maintenance on facilities, including cleaning and upkeep.
  • Assist with garden and yard upkeep, including mowing the lawn and collecting trash.
  • Perform weather/seasonal related upkeep, including snow removal.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and health and safety regulations.

Requirements:

  • Ability to follow instructions from supervisors.
  • Knowledge of general maintenance and repair.
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
  • Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
  • Schedule flexibility, including weekend availability.
