The Team:
Welcome to the Mattel Global Security Team. Have you ever dreamed of being part of a group dedicated to safeguarding some of the most beloved toys and the talented individuals behind them?

The Global Security Team is charged with the responsibility of ensuring the safety of our personnel, assets, and the Mattel brand. We achieve this through the recruitment, training, and development of top-tier security professionals, implementing robust policies, and utilizing both established and cutting-edge technologies.

Position Overview:
We are looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic, and detail-oriented Security Officer with a background in security to help protect Mattel's workforce, guests, products, and brand integrity. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team player with excellent communication skills and the ability to manage and prioritize tasks effectively.

This role is primarily a Part-Time Weekend Position and may involve some holiday and weekday shifts. The Security Officer may be required to work various shifts based on operational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Physical Security:
  • Implement and uphold the best practices of the Mattel Global Security Department while adhering to US Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT) guidelines. This includes safeguarding Mattel's physical assets, personnel, and property from theft, damage, and unlawful activities.
  • Execute security duties as outlined in the Contingency Operations and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) manuals under the guidance of the Security Leader/Shift Supervisor.
  • Conduct administrative data entry tasks as per post orders (e.g., Guardhouse, Employee Entrance, Rover Patrol).
  • Manage traffic control, visitor registration, and assist suppliers, contractors, and delivery personnel while handling phone inquiries at designated locations.
  • Perform mobile and foot patrols to monitor the premises for security and facility-related issues. Oversee the access control system, CCTV, and guard tour management systems.
  • Support intellectual property security measures.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to all Mattel employees, vendors, and visitors on-site.
Safety Responsibilities:
  • Monitor alarm control panels and report any equipment issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Contact the Security Supervisor or designated personnel during emergencies or security incidents and complete necessary Incident Reports. Respond to environmental and first aid emergencies, facilitating medical assistance as needed.
  • Conduct monthly inspections of safety equipment.
Additional duties may be assigned based on operational requirements, and overtime may be necessary on short notice.

Qualifications:

What We Seek:
  • Strong analytical skills for critical thinking and decision-making.
  • Trustworthy character with a commitment to fulfilling promises.
  • Accountability for maintaining high performance standards.
  • Mature judgment, effective communication, and organizational abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to engage with individuals at all levels.
  • Proficient in communicating with the public and all organizational levels during daily operations.
  • Ability to handle confidential situations with composure during emergencies.
  • Familiarity with PCs and software, including MS Windows, Microsoft Office, and Outlook.
Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of one year of experience in Security, Asset Protection, Loss Prevention, Law Enforcement, or military service preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Valid driver's license is necessary.
  • Possession of a valid Security Guard License (where applicable).
  • Certification in First Aid, CPR, and Blood-borne Pathogens is required or must be obtained through training provided by Mattel.
  • Availability to work various shifts, including nights, holidays, and weekends.
  • Ability to read and interpret business policies, professional journals, and governmental regulations.
  • Proficient in writing reports and business correspondence, including detailed incident reports.
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills are essential.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, navigate stairs, and remain on duty for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Outdoor assignments may require enduring extreme weather conditions.
Ability to utilize security equipment such as handheld and walk-through metal detectors, radios, and access control systems.
