Position Summary:

We are in search of a meticulous individual to fulfill the role of Safety & Training Coordinator. This position encompasses a dual focus on supporting the administrative functions of the Safety Department while also collaborating with the Training Team to develop impactful training initiatives. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional organizational capabilities, a strong attention to detail, and proficiency in creating engaging training materials and presentations. A solid understanding of Microsoft Office applications and a background in graphic design will be advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily administrative tasks within a web-based safety management system, including the updating and tracking of safety records, coordinating with team members on drug test entries, and generating safety reports for management review.
  • Work closely with the Safety and Technical Training Manager to design, develop, and refresh safety training content, including Weekly and Monthly Safety Talks.
  • Utilize various software tools to assist in the translation of training documentation, incorporating voiceover and AI technologies as needed.
  • Oversee all training assignments for Hooper, including internal training and client-specific requirements.
  • Support the onboarding process for new hires by addressing computer training inquiries, gathering necessary information during orientation, and collaborating with safety specialists to ensure new employees receive appropriate safety equipment.
  • Maintain and update training records and databases, ensuring comprehensive documentation of all employee training activities.
  • Assist in the collection of paper forms not integrated into the safety management system, such as Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), receipts, and daily inspection logs, while communicating effectively with field supervisors and the safety team.
  • Coordinate and schedule training sessions, managing logistics, participant communication, and venue preparation.
  • Contribute to the evaluation of training effectiveness, providing suggestions for enhancements based on participant feedback and assessment data.
  • Prepare and disseminate safety communications, newsletters, and updates to all personnel.
  • Assist in the procurement and inventory management of safety equipment and supplies.

Working Environment:

  • Standard office setting with routine tasks performed while seated at a computer, involving repetitive typing and computer usage.
  • Occasional site visits may be required to project locations, shops, and fleet areas.
  • Ability to lift weights ranging from 25 to 35 pounds on an occasional basis, with or without reasonable accommodation.
