Position Summary
The Arbor Care Specialist is responsible for employing advanced climbing and rigging methods to remove dead or superfluous branches from trees or shrubs. This role is essential for maintaining clear pathways for roads, sidewalks, and utilities, as well as enhancing the aesthetic appeal, health, and overall value of trees.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize various equipment such as boom trucks, loaders, stump grinders, brush chippers, tractors, power saws, and sprayers.
- Ascend trees using climbing gear or ladders to access work areas safely.
- Maintain tools and equipment by cleaning, sharpening, and lubricating as necessary.
- Remove dead and excess branches from trees, ensuring safety around power lines using climbing gear, bucket trucks, chainsaws, and other tools.
- Perform trimming, pruning, and reshaping of trees to promote healthy growth.
- Execute tree removal and spraying tasks as instructed.
- Assist in hoisting tools and equipment to tree trimmers and managing the lowering of branches using ropes or block and tackle systems.
- Operate shredding and chipping machinery, efficiently feeding limbs and brush into the equipment.
- Load and transport debris for proper disposal.
Work Environment
- This position requires working outdoors in various weather conditions, involving regular bending, twisting, and lifting of light to heavy materials.

Qualifications
- Prior experience in tree trimming is essential.

- Effective verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
