Position Overview

The Commonwealth of Virginia seeks to establish a workplace culture that mirrors the diverse community it serves, ensuring success for every employee by valuing the unique contributions of each individual. We are looking for two faculty members to engage in teaching, service, and research within the Department. These roles will involve substantial teaching commitments in the Master of Health Administration (MHA), Master of Science in Health Administration (MSHA), and undergraduate programs. One position will primarily focus on the graduate program, potentially taking on program management responsibilities for various certificates. The other role will concentrate on the undergraduate program, with possible graduate teaching duties as needed. Responsibilities also include representing the Department in national professional organizations and participating in committee work at various levels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching: Faculty members will deliver instruction in the Department's graduate and undergraduate programs, covering topics such as healthcare systems, management of healthcare delivery, human resources, strategy, and innovation. There may also be opportunities for program management within the department.
  • Research: Faculty will actively promote and contribute to the scholarship and research initiatives of the department.
  • Service: Faculty members will participate in departmental, college, and university committees as assigned and represent the Department in professional organizations.
  • Additional Duties: Responsibilities may include career advising and coaching for case competitions.

Required Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Health Administration or a related field.
  • A minimum of five years of leadership experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Proven track record of interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Commitment to fostering a diverse environment within faculty, staff, and students.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Five or more years of experience in an executive leadership role within a healthcare organization.
  • Experience teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Experience in both residential and online teaching formats.
