Job Description

Job Title: Nursing Director - Med-Surg Oncology, Womens Health, and Orthopedics

Salary Range: $96,000 to $153,000

Schedule: Full-time, 36 hours per week, Variable Shifts (No Weekends)

Job Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Nursing Director to lead our Medical Surgical Oncology, Womens Health, and Orthopedics Units. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated and team-oriented leader committed to fostering an environment that delivers exceptional patient care and supports continuous professional development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the operational, strategic, and administrative functions across the Medical Surgical Oncology, Womens Health, and Orthopedics Units.
  • Lead and mentor nursing staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and best practices in patient care.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and quality assurance measures that enhance patient outcomes and optimize workflow.
  • Collaborate with other department heads and healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care coordination.
  • Manage staffing, including hiring, training, evaluating, and scheduling employees to ensure adequate coverage and professional growth.
  • Prepare and manage departmental budgets, monitor expenditures, and implement cost-effective measures.
  • Drive initiatives that improve patient satisfaction and clinical outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Nursing from an accredited school (Masters degree preferred).
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure or eligibility for licensure in the State of Virginia.
  • BLS Certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of nursing experience, with at least two (2) years in a managerial or leadership role in a Med-Surg environment.
  • Proven track record of leadership in healthcare, with a strong focus on patient-centered care.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
