Position Summary:

Unit Overview:
D4 is a 30-bed intermediate care/stepdown unit that primarily caters to cardiac patients requiring cardiac catheterizations, post STEMI/angioplasty care, NSTEMI management, post pacemaker insertion, CHF treatment, Atrial Fibrillation management, and patients experiencing hyper/hypotension who do not meet ICU admission criteria.

D4 proudly holds a Beacon Award for Excellence, having received a silver-level award from the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN).

The Beacon Award for Excellence recognizes unit caregivers who successfully enhance patient outcomes and align practices with AACN's six Healthy Work Environment Standards. We commend the D4 caregivers at Lowell General Hospital for their collaborative efforts in achieving and surpassing the high standards set by the Beacon Award.

The silver-level Beacon Award signifies a robust approach to policies, procedures, and processes that involve staff and key stakeholders.


Work Schedule:
36 hours per week, Day/Eve Shift, Every Third Weekend, Rotating 7am-7pm and 11am-11pm.

Qualifications:
  • Critical care experience is essential.
  • Ability to independently read and interpret Tele strips.
  • Strong time management skills are required.
  • Familiarity with electronic charting systems; Cerner experience is preferred.
  • BSN is preferred.
  • Valid BLS and ACLS certifications are required; PCCN or CVRN certifications are preferred.
