Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team at the University System of New Hampshire. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic research team focused on developing engineering principles to guide on-demand biosensor design towards Industry 4.0 applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research on surface modification of proteins and assessment of stimulus response of dynamic stimuli-responsive surface proteins using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy.
  • Collaborate with the research team to develop and implement new research methods and techniques.
  • Participate in the development of a multi-tiered workforce development plan integrated throughout the project, including training for a new biotechnology workforce in various states.
  • Contribute to the team's leadership and management, including budgetary oversight and travel capabilities.
Requirements
  • PhD in Engineering or Physical Sciences.
  • Strong mathematical background.
  • Experience in two or more of the following areas: electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, protein chemistry and protein engineering, surface chemistry, biomanufacturing/bioprocessing.
  • Leadership experience.
  • Great communication and mentorship skills.
  • Experience towards Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) efforts.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Additional scientific skills, including quartz crystal microbalance, microfluidics, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, attenuated tunneling reflectance - Fourier transform infrared, atomic force microscopy, and other surface analysis techniques.
  • Electrochemistry knowledge, including familiarity with communication tools, Slack, Zoom, and Teams.
