Join Our Team as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Global Mental Health

Duke University is seeking a highly motivated and experienced postdoctoral research associate to join our team in the Duke Center for Global Mental Health. As a postdoctoral research associate, you will play a key role in supporting and developing intervention-focused research in global mental health, with a focus on low- and middle-income countries.

About the Position

This is a two-year postdoctoral position with the possibility of extension based on mutual interest and funding. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to engage in direct mentorship with undergraduate students, graduate students, and doctoral students from across the university, school of nursing, and medical school.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct intervention-focused research in global mental health, with a focus on low- and middle-income countries
  • Develop and adapt interventions for mental health delivery and access
  • Evaluate interventions and apply implementation science approaches
  • Engage in direct mentorship with undergraduate students, graduate students, and doctoral students
  • Participate in university teaching through guest lectures or co-teaching opportunities
  • Contribute to the development of our growing Center for Global Mental Health
Qualifications and Skills
  • Doctoral or terminal degree in a relevant field, including psychology, nursing, medicine, global health, public health, health behavior, or implementation science
  • Experience or interest in conducting intervention-focused research in global mental health
  • Experience or interest in conducting research in low- and middle-income countries
  • Perspectives and experiences that reflect a strong commitment to equity, inclusion, and decolonization
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
  • Clinical experience or interest in mental health intervention delivery
  • Experience or interest in academic teaching
  • Experience or interest in supervising and mentoring trainees in research or practice
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure as a mental health professional
