Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Postdoctoral Scholar to join our team at the University of New Hampshire. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic research team focused on developing engineering principles to guide on-demand biosensor design towards Industry 4.0 applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research on surface modification of proteins and assessment of stimulus response of dynamic stimuli-responsive surface proteins using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy.
  • Develop and implement new research methods and techniques to advance the field of biosensor design.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve project goals and objectives.
  • Communicate research findings through publications and presentations.
  • Participate in training and development of a new biotechnology workforce in AL, ME, NH, and WY.
Requirements
  • PhD in Engineering or Physical Sciences.
  • Strong mathematical background.
  • Experience in two or more of the following areas: Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy, Protein Chemistry and Protein Engineering, Surface Chemistry, Biomanufacturing/Bioprocessing.
  • Leadership experience.
  • Great communication and mentorship skills.
  • Experience towards Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) efforts.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Additional scientific skills: Quartz Crystal Microbalance, Microfluidics, X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy, Attenuated Tunneling Reflectance - Fourier Transform Infrared, Atomic Force Microscopy, and other surface analysis techniques.
  • Electrochemistry knowledge: Familiarity with communication tools, Slack, Zoom, and Teams.
