Position Summary

In the role of a Behavioral Training Specialist, you will be instrumental in upholding the highest standards of care for our clients with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Your responsibilities will include training new team members, conducting performance observations, and ensuring the fidelity of treatment across all staff levels. Collaborating closely with Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and Program Coordinators, you will contribute to the evolution of our behavior therapy services.

Qualifications

  • Availability for a work schedule from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday. Alternative scheduling requests will be evaluated on an individual basis.
  • EIDBI Level 1 (preferred) or Level 2 provider status.

Level 1 Requirements:

  • Enrollment in a graduate program within a mental health discipline or possession of a master's degree in a relevant field.
  • A minimum of 2,000 hours of clinical experience and/or training.

Level 2 Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in behavioral or child development sciences or a related field, along with one of the following: 1,000 hours of clinical experience, completion of approved graduate coursework, or certification as a BCaBA or RBT.
  • Enrollment in a bachelor's degree program in behavioral or child development sciences, with a commitment to complete 1,000 hours of supervised experience.
  • A total of 4,000 hours of supervised clinical experience.

Key Responsibilities

Training and Development:

  • Facilitate new employee orientation regarding clinic policies and procedures.
  • Educate staff on behavior analytic principles through effective training methodologies.
  • Demonstrate skills application in both one-on-one and small group sessions for new hires.
  • Evaluate treatment fidelity through direct observation and guidance of providers.
  • Offer consistent, constructive feedback to enhance staff performance.
  • Conduct initial competency assessments for new team members.
  • Stay informed on client programming and behavior intervention strategies.
  • Advise staff on prompting techniques and behavior management strategies.
  • Communicate any programmatic concerns with program coordinators or BCBAs.
  • Organize training schedules for new hires during their initial 30-60 days.
  • Collaborate with fellow trainers and BCBAs to update training materials.
  • Develop additional assessment tools as necessary.
  • Provide supervision for certification/licensure when applicable.

Client-Centered Therapy:

  • Deliver individualized therapy sessions utilizing behavior analysis principles.
  • Implement tailored treatment plans focused on specific client goals.
  • Utilize positive and proactive behavior management techniques.
  • Accurately collect data and complete session documentation.
  • Incorporate supervisor feedback to improve therapy effectiveness and client outcomes.
  • Conduct various assessments as assigned, including baseline and functional behavior assessments.

General Duties:

  • Achieve and maintain competency scores of 80% within the first 90 days of employment, with an annual requirement of 85% thereafter.
  • Maintain billable hours: 50% during new hire training, 75% otherwise.
  • Ensure cleanliness of the center throughout treatment days.
  • Complete documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Participate actively in staff meetings and training sessions.
  • Engage in community outreach initiatives.
  • Exhibit flexibility in addressing client, family, and organizational needs.
  • Adhere to company values: client-focused, ethical, supportive, dedicated, and integrity-driven.
  • Comply with ethical standards set by supervising professionals.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
