Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct hydrology and hydraulics (H&H) modeling for design and analysis.
  • Assess and model flooding scenarios.
  • Develop effective stormwater management systems.
  • Plan and implement strategies for shoreline and coastal resilience.
  • Design and execute stream restoration projects.
  • Oversee dam project designs and conduct safety evaluations.
  • Analyze sediment transport dynamics.
  • Investigate and manage water resources.
  • Facilitate the processing of wetland and waterway permits.
  • Evaluate and restore watershed health.
  • Design Acid Mine Drainage (AMD) remediation systems.
  • Support grant application processes and management.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in H&H modeling, floodplain analysis, and stormwater management design.
  • Familiarity with HEC-RAS 1D modeling; willingness to learn HEC-RAS 2D modeling is a plus.
  • Strong project management skills throughout the design and construction phases.
  • Ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Proficient in software applications related to hydrology, hydraulics, and drafting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Availability for occasional travel and overtime as needed.
  • An engineering degree is preferred; candidates with related experience in environmental science, biology, or landscape architecture will also be considered.

Educational Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering is preferred. Candidates should possess an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Engineering Intern (EI) designation and a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
