About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Operations Specialist to join our team at TranSystems. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful execution of our transportation projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide construction assistance to assigned projects, ensuring timely and efficient completion of tasks.
  • Drive company vehicle to and from project sites, as well as on-site activities.
  • Respond to inquiries and complaints from residents engineers, providing prompt and professional support.
  • Operate various tools and equipment necessary for project completion.
  • Collect and report accurate measurements and progress information, documenting on an Inspector's Daily Report (IDR).
  • Set up and manage material receive books, ensuring accurate tracking and documentation.
  • Collect material certifications from contractors, verifying compliance with project requirements.
  • Coordinate with contractors and project engineers to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Perform on-site testing as needed, ensuring compliance with project specifications.
  • Verify materials for conformance with contract requirements before installation.
  • Identify potential problems and report to project engineers and supervisors, ensuring prompt resolution.
  • Perform job-specific quality system tasks, adhering to company quality manual.
  • Comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and company policies.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Four (4) years of experience in the construction industry.
  • Ability to become certified in DOT classes and maintain certifications.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to engage multiple perspectives and seek feedback from peers.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to resolve conflicts and issues in the field.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently, with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
  • Basic math skills, with the ability to compute quantities and costs.
  • Ability to interpret and implement company safety policies.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to operate a level.
  • Understanding of construction surveying procedures and principles.
Working Conditions
  • Work in an outdoor environment, with moderate noise levels and occasional travel via automobile.
