At Leidos, we are currently seeking an Electronics Assembly Specialist to support our NATSC contract in Newport, Rhode Island.

Job Summary

This role will involve working as a repair/production technician on towed array repair lines of the Navy Array Technical Support Center (NATSC) at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport. Technicians assigned to specific array product lines or the Hose & Tow Cable Fabrication Shop will evaluate and troubleshoot failed module assemblies to the component level, perform repairs, manufacture array module hose assemblies and/or tow cables, and ensure high standards of quality.

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing standardized or prescribed assignments involving a sequence of related operations. They will receive initial instruction, equipment requirements, and advice from supervisors or engineers as needed and perform recurring work independently with review for technical adequacy or conformity with instructions.

The selected individual will also construct components, sub-units, or simple models, adapt standard equipment, and perform minor modifications in test setups or procedures. Additionally, they will select, set up, and operate standard test equipment, record test data, and extract and compile various engineering data from field notes, manuals, lab reports, etc.

A high school/vocational school diploma or GED certificate is required. The ability to obtain and maintain a DOD secret level clearance is necessary, with a minimum of a DOD Interim secret level clearance to start in this position. Familiarity with standard computer operation and Microsoft Office products is also preferred.

This role offers a competitive salary of $18.85 per hour and is covered by the Service Contract Act. We anticipate that this job requisition will remain open for at least 3 days with an anticipated close date of no earlier than 3 days after the original posting date.
