At Sunrise, our Senior Care Assistant plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional care and support to a dedicated group of residents and their families within our assisted living and memory care communities.

RESPONSIBILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS

Shift Timing: 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish meaningful connections with a designated group of seniors and their families, assisting them with daily living activities while recognizing their individual care needs and preferences.
  • Alert management to any changes in residents' conditions and suggest necessary adjustments in care and services.
  • Support residents in life skills and engage them in enriching activities as outlined in their individual profiles.
  • Incorporate a variety of sensory experiences into the daily routines of residents.
  • Contribute to the creation and monthly updates of Individualized Service Plans (ISP).
  • Maintain responsibility for the well-being of assigned residents throughout the shift, ensuring their safety and comfort.
  • Collaborate with the community team to uphold compliance with safety regulations and promote risk management initiatives.
  • Attend to the dining needs of residents and guests, ensuring a high standard of hospitality and service.
  • Encourage and assist residents in engaging in life skills and activities as indicated in their ISP.

Qualifications:

  • A strong commitment to serving seniors with outstanding customer service skills.
  • A positive demeanor, adaptability to perform various tasks in service to residents, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • A high school diploma or GED is accepted and may be required based on state regulations.
  • In relevant states, maintaining certifications is necessary.
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
  • Previous experience working with seniors is preferred.
  • Ability to make informed decisions in the best interest of residents.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, along with a solid understanding of resident needs.
  • Strong organizational and time management capabilities.
  • Demonstrated good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
