Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY
The Arizona Operations Coordinator plays a pivotal role in delivering operational assistance to our Arizona affiliate while advocating for educational equity and social justice for marginalized children and families. This position is integral in providing logistical support for various events and activities, along with high-level administrative assistance. Your organized and proactive approach will allow you to collaborate with dedicated colleagues who are committed to making significant strides toward our mission.

This is a part-time role, requiring approximately 15-20 hours per week, with potential increases to 30-40 hours during peak periods.

ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND
Stand for Children is a dynamic force for educational equity and racial justice, striving to create a brighter future for all.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Event Coordination:
    • Assist in planning and executing annual fundraising events, including venue coordination, registration support, and vendor management.
    • Support the State Organizing Director with community engagement events such as Read Across America Day and local volunteer gatherings.
    • Collaborate with the Associate Director on state capitol events, including lobby days and coalition meetings.
    • Facilitate planning for annual retreats, including venue scouting and on-site support.
    • Assist in logistical arrangements for planning events, including food and scheduling.
  • Administrative Support:
    • Manage team calendars and schedule meetings with coalition partners and stakeholders.
    • Assist the Arizona team with timely processing of accounts payable and invoicing.
    • Support the Executive Director and Associate Executive Director with expense reporting and approvals.
    • Process and acknowledge donations.
    • Coordinate travel arrangements.
  • Project Assistance:
    • Conduct data entry related to local volunteer activities and fundraising efforts.
    • Support local literacy initiatives.
    • Assist in recruiting for parent reading programs and provide workshop support.
    • Help the State Organizing Director with seasonal employment documentation.
    • Facilitate voter outreach efforts, including phone banking and canvassing.
    • Coordinate with the People & Culture Team for new staff orientations on office policies.
    • Maintain local storage and mailbox operations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong commitment to the mission of Stand for Children.
  • At least two years of experience in administrative support and/or event coordination.
  • Availability to work 30-40 hours per week during peak periods.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively.
  • Strong written communication abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; comfort with technology is essential.
  • Experience with Salesforce is a plus.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to accept feedback and follow through on commitments.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is advantageous.
  • Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends as needed.
  • Capability to lift items under 10 pounds and remain stationary for extended periods.

SALARY RANGE: $20.74-$25.92/hour based on experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package.
