Job Title: Compliance Clerk - Special Services

Join the Spring Independent School District team as a Compliance Clerk - Special Services. This role provides critical support to the department's administrative functions, ensuring the smooth operation of special education services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide information to visitors and callers regarding special education programs and services available in the district.
  • Order and distribute office supplies, maintaining a well-stocked and organized workspace.
  • Offer clerical support to department supervisory staff, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Participate in staff development and department meetings, staying informed and engaged.
  • Enter information into the special education management system for new or transferring students, working closely with special education administration staff as needed.
  • Audit information in the special education management system for accuracy, maintaining data integrity.
  • Support filing and organizing special education documentation, ensuring easy access and retrieval.
  • Assist new special education IEP Clerks with processes and procedures, promoting a smooth onboarding experience.
  • Provide support as needed in the absence of an IEP Clerk team member, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
  • Attend training sessions provided by district personnel, staying up-to-date on best practices and procedures.
  • Assist in departmental projects as needed, contributing to the team's success.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned, demonstrating a commitment to the district's mission and values.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma from an accredited institution or GED.
  • Prior job-related experience with increasing responsibility, preferably in public education and/or special education.
Special Knowledge and Skills:
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms with all levels of organization, both internal and external.
  • Strong organizational and people skills, with a focus on building positive relationships.
  • Proficiency in using computer software to develop memos, databases, and spreadsheets.
  • Ability to manage and impart confidential information and student records, maintaining confidentiality and discretion.
  • Skills in assessing and prioritizing multiple tasks, projects, and demands, ensuring timely completion and high-quality results.
Working Conditions:

The usual and customary methods of performing this job require prolonged periods of sitting, moderate standing, stooping, bending, reaching, and repetitive hand motions. Prolonged use of a computer is also required. May require some lifting of no more than 10 pounds. Ability to maintain emotional control under stress.
