About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Animal Health Veterinarian to join our team at the ASPCA Animal Hospital (AAH). As a key member of our veterinary team, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality, practical veterinary care to a wide range of outpatients and inpatients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing Medical Cases: Provide skilled and efficient diagnosis and treatment of outpatients and hospitalized animals within hospital medical parameters and budgetary guidelines.
  • Providing In-House Veterinary Coverage: Oversee admission of patients from the ASPCA Adoption Center, kitten nursery, ARC, and CARE, and provide inpatient care and supervision of veterinary interns.
  • Collaboration and Mentorship: Participate in doctors' meetings, provide empathetic mentorship and training to externs and interns, and collaborate with other departments to advance animal welfare.
Requirements
  • Education: DVM degree (or equivalent) with NY State veterinary license.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years small animal medicine experience without internship.
  • Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, critical thinking, and ability to work well under pressure.
