Our team is comprised of dedicated professionals who work together to provide medical care, behavioral assessment, and adoption services to animals in need. We are seeking an exceptional Shelter Veterinarian to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree, licensure in good standing to practice veterinary medicine and surgery, and a state controlled substance license practitioner in good standing. The successful candidate will be responsible for examining, evaluating, diagnosing, treating, and providing general and emergency medical care to animals under the supervision of York County Animal Control.

The Shelter Veterinarian will also be responsible for prescribing, dispensing, and administering medication, vaccinations, and providing training and oversight to Animal Control staff on the use of medications and controlled substances. Additionally, the successful candidate will perform testing, spay, neuter, surgeries, and euthanasia on animals, and provide examination and health certification to ensure animals are fit for interstate transport.

The Shelter Veterinarian will work closely with management staff to identify and implement long-range programs and regularly review policies, procedures, and ordinances. The successful candidate will also participate in community outreach events, such as wellness clinics, microchip clinics, and public spay/neuter clinics.

We offer a competitive salary range of $125,000 - $160,000, negotiable based on experience/education.
