GENERAL FUNCTION

At Target Optical, our goal is to ensure our Guests are satisfied by making it easy and enjoyable to see well and look great. The Licensed Optical Store Manager plays a crucial role in achieving this mission by leading a team of high-performing members to provide an outstanding experience for every guest while meeting all brand goals and commitments.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensures Team Members provide an exceptional guest experience consistently by modeling and coaching the essential service principles.
  • Establishes clear expectations for the store and Team Members to be Guest Ready.
  • Guides Team Members in understanding that adhering to service principles and being Guest Ready are critical for guest satisfaction.
  • Manages the flow on the sales floor, ensuring a welcoming environment for every guest and team member.
  • Collaborates with Team Members to create actionable plans for immediate and long-term development.
  • Holds every Team Member accountable for their development plans and commitments.
  • Provides timely and constructive feedback to motivate and support Team Members.
  • Fosters a culture of simplicity, enjoyment, and style.
  • Conducts annual performance evaluations and monthly coaching discussions with all Team Members.
  • Understands the key success factors for their business.
  • Identifies opportunities for improvement and formulates action plans.
  • Recognizes that guest satisfaction drives business results.
  • Develops a professional relationship with the Target Optical doctor, ensuring a collaborative and consultative eye exam experience.
  • Maintains a positive relationship with the Target Host to enhance business growth.
  • Recruits top talent and maintains a pool of potential candidates.
  • Understands the work patterns of high-performing Team Members during peak times.
  • Creates schedules based on business trends and customer traffic.
  • Takes ownership of the business and adjusts schedules as needed.
  • Manages payroll on a weekly basis.
  • Completes new hire and personnel change documentation.
  • Accountable for the store's shrink percentage.
  • Conducts physical inventory twice a year.
  • Completes monthly Store Visit Forms for review with leadership.
  • Ensures adherence to all operational policies and procedures, including merchandising and store presentation.
  • Guarantees accurate completion of all sales transactions and the effective use of sales strategies.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Opticianary License or American Board of Opticians Certification as required by state law
  • 3+ years of experience in customer service or retail
  • Experience in recruiting, selecting, and developing talent
  • Strong selling skills
  • Ability to motivate and influence others

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of management or supervisory experience

Employee compensation is determined by various factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills, and local minimum wage requirements. Additionally, competitive bonus and/or commission plans may be offered, complementing a comprehensive total rewards package.
