GENERAL FUNCTION

At Target Optical, we strive to ensure our Guests are satisfied by making the experience of seeing well and looking great both simple and enjoyable. The Licensed Optical Store Manager plays a crucial role in achieving this goal by leading a team of high-performing members to provide an outstanding experience for every guest while meeting the brand's objectives.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Guarantees that Team Members deliver an exceptional guest experience consistently by modeling and coaching the core principles.
  • Establishes clear expectations for the store and Team Members to be Guest Ready.
  • Guides Team Members in understanding that adhering to the core principles and being Guest Ready are vital for delighting guests.
  • Manages the flow on the sales floor, ensuring a welcoming environment for every guest and team member.
  • Collaborates with Team Members to create actionable plans for immediate and long-term development.
  • Ensures accountability among Team Members regarding their action plans and commitments.
  • Provides timely and constructive feedback to motivate and develop Team Members.
  • Fosters a culture that values simplicity, enjoyment, and style.
  • Conducts annual performance evaluations and monthly coaching discussions with all Team Members.
  • Possesses a clear understanding of the key success factors within their business.
  • Identifies opportunities for improvement and formulates action plans accordingly.
  • Recognizes that guest satisfaction drives overall results.
  • Builds a professional relationship with the Target Optical doctor, where applicable, to ensure a seamless and collaborative eye exam experience.
  • Maintains a positive relationship with the Target Host to support business growth.
  • Recruits top talent and maintains a pool of potential candidates.
  • Understands the work patterns of high-performing Team Members during peak times.
  • Creates schedules based on business trends and traffic forecasts.
  • Takes ownership of the business and adjusts schedules as needed to meet operational demands.
  • Manages payroll on a weekly basis.
  • Completes new hire and personnel change documentation.
  • Ensures accountability for the store's shrink percentage.
  • Conducts physical inventory twice a year.
  • Completes monthly Store Visit Forms for review with relevant teams.
  • Ensures compliance with all operational policies and procedures, including merchandising and store presentation.
  • Guarantees accurate completion of all sales transactions and effective use of sales strategies.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Opticianary License or American Board of Opticians Certification as required by state law.
  • 3+ years of experience in customer service or retail.
  • Experience in recruiting, selecting, and developing talent.
  • Strong selling skills.
  • Ability to motivate and influence others.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of management or supervisory experience.

Employee compensation is determined by various factors, including geographic location, experience, qualifications, skills, and local minimum wage requirements. Additionally, a competitive bonus and/or commission plan may be offered, complementing a comprehensive total rewards package.
