Job Summary

We are seeking a full-time Experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will assist the Veterinarians and Veterinary Technicians in all of their duties, including preparing animals for exams and surgery, performing medical treatments, and administering medications under the direction of a Veterinarian or Veterinary Technician.

Responsibilities
  • Assist Veterinarians and Veterinary Technicians in all duties
  • Prepare animals for exams and surgery
  • Perform medical treatments
  • Administer medications under the direction of a Veterinarian or Veterinary Technician
  • Obtain and properly handle/prepare in-house and laboratory specimens
  • Work in cooperation with staff to attend to any immediate needs
  • Handle animals and their owners in a responsive, courteous and tactful manner
  • Maintain a healthy, safe, sanitary, pleasant and clean facilities for the animals
Qualifications
  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb
  • Ability to manipulate (lift, carry, move) up to 50 pounds and lift over 50 pounds with the assistance of a coworker
  • Ability to work in noisy work conditions with sounds from animals and equipment
  • Ability to exchange accurate information with all clients and team members
