Employee Benefits Coordinator

We are seeking an Employee Benefits Coordinator to join our team at Amigos Por Vida Friends for Life Charter School. This is a full-time position that offers a competitive salary and benefits package.
Salary: $45,000 - $60,000 per year
Location: Our school location does not matter in this context
Job DescriptionThe Employee Benefits Coordinator will be responsible for assisting employees with HR policies and procedures, benefits, payroll system, state and federal regulations. The successful candidate will also assist in the school requisition process.
Key Responsibilities- Research and answer questions and issues raised by employees and administrators regarding HR policies and procedures, benefits, payroll system, state and federal regulations.
- Assist in the hiring process, maintain physical and computerized confidential personnel files, and process emergency permits as needed.
- Coordinate annual benefit plan open enrollment activities, process and verify employee benefit enrollment and change forms within required time limits, and prepare and verify payroll deductions with billing statements and enrollment forms.
- Assist employees with facility and physician selection for Worker's Comp accidents, communicate with workers' compensation insurance carrier and healthcare providers to ensure appropriate processing of claims, establish new hire employee records in Ascender-Human Resources, and assist with annual 'Next Year' update of salaries, adjustments, and deductions in Ascender.
- Prepare purchase orders and place orders upon receipt of properly approved purchase request forms, ensure vendors receive the School's Sales and Use Tax Exemption Certificate, coordinate receipt verification of orders for accuracy, and perform other job-related duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma minimum, Associate Degree or 60 hours preferred.
- 1-3 years relevant experience, school operations a plus.
- Citizenship, residency or work VISA in United States required.
- Ability to maintain personnel records in strict confidence.
- Microsoft Office competency; customer relations focused; detail oriented; and able to meet deadlines.
The Campus is temperature-controlled with hard surface floors. This position requires prolonged sitting, stooping, and bending. Working conditions may be modified under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) for diagnosed medical conditions.
