This role involves overseeing and directing transmission projects throughout their entire lifecycle, which encompasses scope and proposal development, team formation and task assignment, project execution, closure, quality assurance, scheduling, and budget oversight.

Key Responsibilities

  • Directs multiple project teams across concurrent assignments
  • Ensures quality, timeliness, and financial integrity of projects
  • Possesses experience in transmission line design utilizing PLS-CADD, along with steel and wood structure analysis/design
  • Demonstrates expertise in transmission and distribution line projects, including routing, permitting, public engagement, and right-of-way acquisition
  • Mentors and supervises scientists, planners, engineers, designers, and technicians
  • Collaborates with senior staff to cultivate and maintain client relationships
  • Leads and conducts studies and investigations to prepare reports and applications for environmental permits in support of various construction projects
  • Establishes protocols for data collection, analysis, management, and reporting for technical reports and permit applications
  • Effectively communicates scientific and technical information to project teams, clients, and resource agencies through detailed reports and presentations
  • Provides technical and regulatory guidance to project teams and client organizations regarding permit applications and environmental programs
  • Reviews environmental documentation for compliance with federal and state regulations
  • Aids clients in permit coordination, acquisition, and compliance
  • Gathers project-related data, which may involve research, surveys for listed species, interviews with agencies and landowners, resource map evaluations, and field investigations
  • Performs additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in biology, ecology, rangeland sciences, wildlife management, or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 3 years of project management experience
  • 5-10 years of experience with a focus on Electric Transmission
  • Proven experience in building client relationships and understanding regulatory and market demands
  • Experience in Routing Studies
  • Strong organizational and business-technical writing capabilities
  • Excellent time management, written communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills
  • Professional demeanor with sound decision-making abilities
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in team environments and establish strong inter-team relationships
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel)
