Job Title: Payroll Support Specialist

Job Summary:

The Payroll Support Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of payroll processes at BerganKDV. This position is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, resolving client issues, and ensuring timely project scheduling. The successful candidate will also assist in training and mentoring team members, creating and documenting processes, and may be involved in payroll processing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Resolve product or service problems by clarifying the customer's issue, determining the cause, and selecting the best solution to solve the problem.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients to ensure their needs are met.
  • Assist in training and mentoring team members on software usage and payroll processes.
  • Work with internal and external individuals to answer questions, resolve issues, and share information.
  • Recommend and implement changes to improve efficiency and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements and regulations.
  • Stay up-to-date on software changes and enhancements to optimize software utilization.
  • Ensure timely processing of ACH files, setup, and maintenance.
  • Backup responsibilities for transmission of Secure Pay wires and ACH files.
  • Create or maintain custom script changes within the system.

Requirements:

  • Associate degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field.
  • Advanced level in Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Internet, etc.
  • Strong technical and computer skills.
  • Familiarity with payroll processing, including tax, benefit, and other deductions.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Adapt to change and manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, reliability, and ability to carry out daily functions in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with computerized payroll and HRIS systems, including Millennium3, SaasHR, Payentry, HRIS, UKG Ready, packages preferred.
  • Ability to find solutions to technical payroll, tax, and systems-related issues preferred.
  • UKG Ready technical support experience required.
