Position Overview:

This opportunity requires US Citizenship. The selected candidate will play a pivotal role in the design and development of structural engineering solutions for the GBSD program. Responsibilities include preparing analyses, drawings, calculations, specifications, and evaluations, adhering to relevant procedures, codes, standards, and contractual obligations. Collaboration with fellow Structural Engineers and various technical disciplines in a cohesive team setting is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and draft concrete and steel structures, including seismic considerations.

• Create foundation designs and associated drawings.

• Oversee boring activities and conduct assessments of existing facilities.

• Execute formal calculations and analyses.

• Review existing conditions and as-built documentation.

• Assess customer and vendor information from subcontractors and incorporate it into design solutions.

• Develop configuration packages for design control, change management, and procurement processes.

• Generate design specifications for construction and procurement.

• Adhere to project schedules while ensuring high-quality deliverables.

• Collaborate closely with other technical disciplines to plan and execute integrated work.

• Engage in onsite projects with customers to coordinate design efforts with the team.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Structural or related) from an accredited institution, with a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, VISIO, and other standard software.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Effective use of office automation tools.

• Comprehensive understanding of Structural engineering design principles.

• Ability to work independently, with over a year of service at Bechtel for consideration of roles outside designated locations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Active security clearance.

• Registered Structural Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the United States.

• Master’s degree in Structural or related Engineering from an accredited university.

• Experience in designing seismic bracing and supports.

• Familiarity with engineering and design using Revit.

• Knowledge of Unified Facilities Criteria and the Whole Building Design Guide.

• Previous experience with government agencies, particularly the Department of Defense.

• Background in quality assurance programs such as ASME-NQA-1, MIL-Q-9858A, or ISO-9000.

• Understanding of Bechtel Corporate guidelines and standards.

• Intermediate knowledge of developing CSI Masterformat specifications or SpecsIntact.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Pay Rate / Range: $36.62 - $79.18

The salary range reflects the expected compensation for the position; however, final offers will be based on various factors including responsibilities, candidate experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.
