Join a dedicated team at Abacus Staffing, contributing to a significant defense program focused on modernizing critical national security systems. As part of our collaborative efforts, you will engage in structural engineering design and analysis, ensuring the integrity and safety of our projects.

Role Overview:

In this position, you will be instrumental in the design development of structural engineering solutions for a high-profile program. Your responsibilities will include preparing detailed studies, technical drawings, calculations, specifications, and evaluations, adhering to established procedures, codes, standards, and contractual obligations.

Collaborate with fellow Structural Engineers and other technical specialists in a cohesive team environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop comprehensive concrete and steel structural designs and drawings, with a focus on seismic considerations.
- Create foundation designs and associated drawings.
- Oversee boring operations and conduct assessments of existing facilities.
- Perform rigorous formal calculations.
- Review current conditions and as-built drawings.
- Analyze customer and vendor data from subcontractors, integrating it into design solutions.
- Prepare design configuration packages for effective change management and procurement.
- Draft design specifications for construction and procurement purposes.
- Ensure adherence to schedules while maintaining high-quality standards in deliverables.
- Coordinate closely with other technical disciplines to ensure integrated project execution.
- Engage onsite with customers and project teams to align designs with project objectives.

Basic Qualifications:

- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Structural or related) from an accredited institution, accompanied by a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience.

- US citizenship is mandated by contract requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, VISIO, and other standard software applications.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to effectively utilize office automation tools.
- Familiarity with industry regulations, codes, and standards, alongside Bechtel Corporate guidelines.
- Broad understanding of Structural engineering design principles.
- Capability to work independently, with a preference for candidates with prior Bechtel experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Active security clearance.
- Registered Structural Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the United States.
- Master’s degree in Structural or related Engineering from an accredited university.
- Experience in designing seismic bracing and supports.
- Proficiency in engineering and design using Revit.
- Familiarity with Unified Facilities Criteria and the Whole Building Design Guide.
- Previous experience collaborating with government agencies, particularly the Department of Defense.
- Knowledge of quality assurance programs such as ASME-NQA-1, MIL-Q-9858A, or ISO-9000.
- Intermediate knowledge of developing CSI Masterformat specifications or SpecsIntact.
